RAN’s Chicago chapter is amazing!!!

RAN Chicago keeps the pressure on JPMorgan Chase.
On Nov. 19 – Nov. 21 around 20 people in the Chicago area and Central Illinois delivered 73 letters over a 3 day period to branch managers of JPMorgan Chase. The letter addressed the banks role in funding mountain top removal coal mining and coal-fired power plants and asked them to cease giving loans to the dirty energy industry. Though some branch managers seemed confused by what we were asking, many showed concern and said things such as “I had no idea we funded this stuff, that is terrible” or “I will get this where it needs to go right away”. A few branch managers even went as far as getting their higher ups on the phone and reading the letter to them. The letter blitz definitely sent a message that Chicago and the rest of Illinois will not let up the pressure until they stop funding dirty coal, and they can expect to hear a lot more until that time comes.
In solidarity,
RAN Chicago
