I’ve been out in the streets taking action for people and the planet for almost 20 years. I’ve participated in hundreds of protests and taken action around the world, but the upcoming Global Climate Strikes will be the most important protests of my life.
This September, millions of people will take collective action to demand climate justice. All week long we’ll be fighting for a better future through direct action and support.
In the lead-up, and during the week, Rainforest Action Network will support trainings and direct actions in these cities:
San Francisco Bay Area
We’ve been supporting non-violent direct action (NVDA) trainings through August and September in the Bay Area.
And there’s only a few more before climate strike action takes off. On September 25th, we’ll be joining thousands in San Francisco’s Financial District (aka “Wall Street West”) to disrupt the climate profiteers in their corporate offices.
New York City
We’re supporting NVDA trainings in New York City. And, also, on September 25th, we’ll be joining a huge protest action at the Plaza Hotel where financial leaders like JPMorgan Chase CEO Jaime Dimon will be meeting.
Minneapolis-St Paul
In the Twin Cities, we’re mobilizing a youth contingent to take action at the newest JPMorgan branch during the climate strike week.
Globally, climate strike actions are happening all over the world, please check out the global climate strike map to find one near you.
There’s never been a more important time to stand up. The Amazon rainforest is on fire. Grand Bahama Island has been virtually wiped off the map by Hurricane Dorian. Heatwaves, droughts, fires and flooding can’t be the legacy we leave to the next generation.
It’s time for us to stand in solidarity with young people around the world. To stand up for what’s right. For questions or support contact organizinghelp@ran.org.
