The following summary provides a brief description of the staff benefits program available to regular full-time and part-time RAN staff (20+ hours) unless stated otherwise. Some benefits may vary according to staff location.

Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance

RAN covers 100% of the premium cost for US staff, their spouse/domestic partner, and/or child(ren). RAN offers two Aetna plans, and for staff in California, offers two Kaiser plans in addition to Aetna.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

For staff who choose a high deductible insurance plan, RAN contributes the amount equal to 100% of the annual deductible (prorated over 12 months).

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

RAN offers several FSA options for staff. For staff who do not choose a high deductible plan, they may opt into a traditional FSA. For those who choose a high deductible plan with HSA, RAN offers a limited FSA. RAN also offers all US staff a Dependent Care FSA.

Life Insurance, Short- & Long-Term Disability Coverage

RAN covers 100% of the premium cost for these plans; there is no cost to our staff. Staff may purchase additional coverages for critical illness, extra life insurance, and so on at their cost.

Part time staff members working 20 hours or more a week accrue PTO benefits on a prorated basis.

Sick Leave

RAN offers sick leave on an “as needed” basis, within certain parameters.

Holidays

RAN recognizes most Federally observed holidays and pays staff for this time off. The lists of holidays are:

Winter Office Closure (Christmas Eve to New Year’s)

Simple IRA Plan

3% matching contribution of the staff’s annual salary, eligible immediately upon hire.

Professional Development Funds

RAN staff are eligible for annual professional development funds.

Work Environment

Staff may choose to work in our office in San Francisco or remotely.

Staff receive a one-time office setup stipend if working from home, or if they prefer to work from a non-home office, RAN will pay the monthly cost of the office space.

RAN offers monthly phone and internet reimbursement.

Sabbatical Leave

Regular, full-time staff are eligible for a 12-week paid sabbatical after each five years of continuous service.

Parental Leave

12 weeks of PAID parental leave.

RAN offers a variety of other types of paid and unpaid leave to address life circumstances.

Dependent Care Reimbursement

RAN offers cash reimbursement (taxable) for dependent care costs associated with staff travel for work.

Headspace Membership

Headspace is meditation made simple, teaching you life-changing mindfulness skills in just a few minutes a day through guided meditations. RAN sponsors Headspace accounts for all staff.

Employee Assistance Program

The EAP is available at no cost to you, provided through our partnership with ADP Total Source, you and your family members may access free, confidential counseling and referral services. This program provides confidential assistance with personal, family and work-related concerns – plus online resources.
