Beneficiary designations
Your individual retirement account (IRA), 401(k), 403(b), donor-advised fund (DAF), life insurance policy, or other annuity can all help protect the climate and keep forests standing. Simply name Rainforest Action Network, Tax ID #94-3045180 as the primary or contingent beneficiary of your account and let us know! Please email emily@ran.org or call 415-398-4404 with your name, account custodian, and contact information for your executor.
Other assets
In some cases, donating assets like real estate, closely held stock, or business interests can provide significant lifetime tax benefits while advancing RAN’s mission. These gifts have to be tailored to your specific circumstances, so contact us at emily@ran.org or 415-398-4404 for more information.
Charitable Gift Annuities – a gift that provides you income
When you transfer cash or securities for your charitable gift annuity (minimum gift of $20,000) you receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction and potentially save capital gains and estate tax. Payments provide dependable fixed income for life, regardless of market fluctuations for you, you and your spouse, or any two beneficiaries you name (beneficiaries must be age 55 or older). After your lifetime, the remaining balance supports RAN’s work for people and planet.
