Legacy gift

Gift and Legacy Planning

You can make a lasting contribution to the preservation of the world's rainforests by naming RAN as a beneficiary in your will, or a recipient of a portion of your estate, or by establishing a charitable trust.

Bequests

RAN recommends the following language for use in wills, with four examples of bequest types.

"I hereby give, devise and bequeath to Rainforest Action Network, a non-profit corporation of the State of California, located at 221 Pine Street #500, San Francisco, CA 94104 USA:

Percentage

__________% of my estate."

Specific

  1. the sum of $__________."
  2. the shares of stock in __________ Company/Corporation."
  3. my real property commonly known as__________."

Residual

all of the residue of my estate, including real and personal."

Contingent

(preceding the above paragraph)
"In the event of the death of any of my beneficiaries (followed with percentage, specific, or residual language above)"

Charitable Trusts

A variety of charitable trusts or "life income agreements" offer significant tax advantages, a regular income for you, and long-term support for RAN. For more information about bequests, charitable trusts, or other planned gifts contact our Development Office at (415) 398-4404 or please email the Development Associate.
