Activist group sends out false news release posing as The Hershey Co.

An activist group sent out a news release to the media Saturday pretending the information was sent from The Hershey Co.
The false release claimed the candy maker was turning to responsible palm oil as part of an initiative to use sustainable palm oil by 2015.
The release also said an orangutan by the name of Strawberry would be making an appearance at Chocolate World on Saturday as company officials rolled out an announcement about the palm oil.
Hershey Co. spokesman Jeff Beckman said the news release was not sent out by Hershey.
